Hui o Laka continues a long-time tradition of assisting those on excursion to Waimea Canyon and Kōkeʻe State Park. There is no charge to student or school. We invite teachers and schools consider becoming a Hui o Laka member so we can continue serving children without charge.
To schedule Hui o Laka support for your excursion, fill out the following form and fax it back to us and/or call us weekdays at 808-335-9975, Ext 0.
When a request is made for excursion support for your field trip to Koke’e, this form must be completed so we can assign a staff/volunteer to fill the need. Always call Kōkeʻe Museum, 808-335-9975, Ext. 0, the week before your program to confirm it.

HELP US CUSTOMIZE YOUR EXCURSION SUPPORT
- Please describe what your group is studying about, natural history, native Hawaiian ecosystems, or Hawaiian culture:
- What activities have you selected for which you want our services? Outline a schedule of your excursion so we can plan for it or react to it:
Please note: Maximum groups are 25 students each with at least one supervising adults for storytelling museum tours and lectures or film presentations. One supervising adult is required for every five students in Grades 3 and below, and one for every 20 students in Grade 4, on a guided walk. This is the recommended Hawaiʻi Dept. of Education policy. You may schedule activities back-to-back to meet your group’s needs. For instance, a 60-student group would be split up into three revolving activities.
When you fill out and return this form, a Hui o Laka staffer will be in touch with you, confirming details and dates. And congratulations to you and your school for exposing your students to these wonderful mountain environments- they will make memories for a lifetime!
